To buy an apartment, what questions should I ask?
- The features of the property
How many meters does the apartment have in total (roofed and not roofed)? How many environments does it have? How many bathrooms? Does it have a view of the street or internal? Does it have a laundry room or area? How many bedrooms? These are some basic questions that we should not stop asking. When walking through the pilot some doubts may also arise such as the materials that have been used and the delivery date.
- The building maintenance fee
This question is key. The maintenance fee will vary depending on the common areas of the building, the size of the project, the surveillance and maintenance services. Also, the number of bedrooms and footprint in your apartment may be considered.
- Participate in a credit potential assessment
Nowadays all real estate companies offer you to carry out a credit potential evaluation and calculate the amount you could pay for a mortgage loan. This will prevent you from paying loans with high fees and interest. Remember to keep in mind that banks require to have 10% of the property’s value or more in some cases. Also, your debt capacity should not exceed 40% of your income.

- About the location
Is there anything significant we need to know about the district? Is it a safe zone? Are there shopping centers nearby? Are there parks nearby? All this will give us an idea of where the apartment is located and if it suits what you are looking for.
- Ask about the common areas
